Abstract

A major problem in handling the human-computer interaction in ARCHON is the identification of the key features of the end-user interface of future ARCHON applications and the process of designing this interface to enable the users to interact efficiently and effectively with the complex multi-agent system. The range of possibilities for the users of ARCHON are considered, in order to define an abstract framework of development principles, relevant to all ARCHON applications. Special emphasis is given to the user analysis and the architecture design phases. Issues related to user modelling are also considered.
