Abstract

The seminar held in February 1991 at KFA Jülich was dedicated as a tribute to Professor Akira Miyahara of the TEXTOR executive committee. Papers presented discussed vertical plasma displacements, international cooperation in high heat flux materials, surface processes in the plasma wall interaction, atomic beams for plasma edge diagnostics and the helium ash problem. Four additional papers are included which were selected as highlights of the TEXTOR day 1990. These related to the energy flux to the TEXTOR limiters during disruptions, confinement with additional heating in TEXTOR, high temperature erosion of carbon materials and radiation cooling with intrinsic and injected impurities.
