Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

MARS (Monitoring Agriculture with Remote Sensing) is a ten year project of the EEC, aimed at integrating remote sensing into the agricultural statistics system at Community or regional levels. New products are emerging from this project, related to an operational approach to satellite data (methods, information systems and products derived from imagery). The documents used for ground survey are based on satellite imagery, within a format well adapted to specific requirements. They illustrate the generation of a cartographic product, already tested as an operational tool.
