Preparation of biological and environmental reference materials at CBNMFunded under: JRC-SERV 3C
Since 1984, CBNM has supported the BCR programme not only in storage, distribution and sales activities, but also in development of preparation, conditioning and packaging methods for reference materials, as well as actually preparing candidate CRMs. CBNM has set up - with the help of BCR - a new laboratory with unique facilities in the field of preparation of biological and environmental reference materials, in particular for organic and inorganic trace analysis. The main technical facilities developed at CBNM and additional equipment built to CBNM specifications by external companies are described. They have been used for the preparation of a variety of reference materials including cod fish, pig liver, spiked milk, curd, orange juice, clover, lettuce, paprika, tomatoes, fly ash, soils and sediments.
