Active solar thermal demonstration projects : Problems and lessons learnedFunded under: FP1-ENNONUC 3C
The growing concern for the environment, together with the development of more adequate certification procedures, has generated not only a renewed interest but also a slow but steady growth in the solar industry since the mid 1980s. In this paper, an overview is given of both past and present activities in the field of active solar thermal applications. Also discussed are the non-energetic benefits of using solar systems, the concept of a guarantee of system performance and the European market for solar thermal equipment.
