Glancing angle X-ray techniques for the analysis of ion beam modified surfaces
This paper demonstrates the application of glancing angle X-ray diffraction, using a standard laboratory X-ray source, to the characterisation of ion beam modified and corroded Ni-20%wtCr steels. Also included is an example showing the potential of grazing incidence X-ray reflectivity in the study of the oxidation behaviour of corrosion resistant layers, in this case chromium.
