Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The Joint European Torus (JET) is the largest project in the coordinated fusion programme of the European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM), whose long term objective is the joint creation of safe environmentally sound prototype fusion reactors. The aim of this report is to show the current status of the project, in particular with regard to timetables, cost, performance of the scientific programme and its position in the EURATOM Fusion programme and in the world-wide development of fusion research. It therefore provides an overview of the scientific, technical and administrative status of the JET programme, which is intended to be comprehensible to the average member of the public.
