Intercomparison of the measurement of angular gauge blocks
An intercomparison of angle measurements in the range 1" - 30" has been carried out for the Community Bureau of Reference. The national standards laboratories of six countries participated in this exercise which took place in 1988-1990. A set of five angle blocks (1", 3", 5", 20", 30") was measured according to each laboratory's best measurement method and/or by the use of a measuring device circulated together with the audit set. The within-laboratory and the between-laboratory variability has been assessed for both methods of measurement. The results obtained show a very good agreement for almost all laboratories, well within the uncertainty quoted by each participant. The measuring device under test was proven to be very reliable.
