Collection and analysis of data from selected EC-funded photovoltaic plantsFunded under: FP1-ENNONUC 3C
As part of the THERMIE programme to fund innovative projects in renewable energy, measurement data from some 50 photovoltaic plants are analysed and sent to the Joint Research Centre in Ispra. This report is concerned only with global measurements taken at 14 plants of comparatively low nominal power output (less than 5 kW(p)). Output was defined and established as follows: (i) The (actual) module-array output is affected by the uptake of energy from plants. Values varied from plant to plant between 1 kWh/(d(*)kW(p)) and 3.5 kWh/(d(*)kW(p)); (ii) Potential output represents module-array output when there is full and uninterrupted uptake; (iii) Reference output is output estimated purely on the basis of given geographical and meteorological conditions; (iv) Final output is the difference between module array output and system power loss; this ranged between 0.8 kWh/(d(*)kW(p)) and 3.3 kWh/(d(*)kW(p) ), with system loss ranging from 0.2 to 2.2 kWh/(d(*)kW(p)).
