Magnetic properties of stoichiometric NpCo(2) from Mossbauer spectroscopy
The Laves phase NpCo(2) compound belongs to the class of itinerant magnets. This report describes a detailed 237Np Mössbauer study of stoichiometric NpCo(2) as a function of temperature and external magnetic field. The main results show the occurrence of long-range magnetic ordering at 13.0 (5) K. The anomalous lineshape is only of dynamical origin and the persistence of magnetic fluctuations at T = 0 K seems to be an intrinsic property of this class of highly hybridised materials.
