The development of measurement techniques for magnetically-confined fusion plasmas is reviewed in this report. The past decade has seen the introduction of several new techniques as well as significant improvements of existing methods. In most cases these developments have had a direct effect on progress in improving the performance of fusion plasmas and in understanding their behaviour.
