This report contains a collection of papers, all submitted at a 5-day conference in Monterey in 1992, which detail recent research work performed by the JET organisation in the context of plasma surface interactions. Among the topics covered are: (i) divertor performance on carbon and beryllium targets in JET; (ii) the tritium clean-up experiment in JET; (iii) modelling impurity control at JET; (iv) the optimisation of X-point target plates; (v) experimental investigation of ELMs and associated fluctuations in JET.
