Abstract

Four papers were presented by JET at the workshop on plasma edge theory in fusion devices held in Germany in June 1992. The first discussed the influence of external tokamak coil imperfections on the structure of the boundary layer magnetic field. The second presented the multifluid codes EDGE1D and EDGE2D used to simulate plasma in the SOL, in particular transport along field lines in the SOL, including impurities. The third paper outlines the applications of a set of 21 moment fluid equations to two further aspects of SOL plasma transport codes. The final paper presents a simple model to describe the diffusion of particles in the SOL.
