Abstract

The THERMIE programme is an important Community instrument, designed to promote greater use of European energy efficient technologies. The main aims of THERMIE are: (i) to improve energy efficiency; (ii) to encourage greater use of new and renewable energy sources; (iii) to reduce environmental pollution; (iv) to promote innovative energy technologies; (v) to disseminate information on these technologies. An overview is given of the different types of activities in the programme and how persons and undertakings can participate in the programme, especially in the field of active and passive solar technologies.
