Contributions to the pretest analysis of the Phebus-FP testsFunded under: JRC-REACTSAFE 5C
Phebus-FP is an experimental programme on fission product release and transport in light water reactor (LWR) severe accidents, managed jointly by the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA) and the Commission of the European Communities (CEC). Participants include organisations from around the world. The first test, FPT-0, will take place in 1993, and current analytical efforts are devoted to preparing this test and its successors, i.e. identifying on the basis of the best available models the most appropriate configurations and operating conditions for the fuel and control rod bundle, the simulated reactor primary circuit, and the model containment. This paper gives a survey of the calculational studies made so far, with emphasis on those topics where CIEMAT has made significant contributions.
