European diamond technology for the 90sFunded under: FP2-BRITE/EURAM 1
This publication reports the proceedings and results of a workshop organised to carry out a detailed and wide-ranging examination of the current state of the art of chemically vapour deposited (CVD) diamond research and development, and in doing so to make a realistic evaluation of current and future industrial opportunities for this technology. It was also hoped that it would act as a catalyst to enhance European-wide collaboration in CVD diamond research between industry, dedicated research organisations and universities. The topics covered were: (i) diamond deposition technologies; (ii) tooling and abrasives; (iii) wear and corrosion resistance; (iv) optical applications; (v) passive electronic applications; (vi) active electronic and opto-electronic applications.
