The publication represents the third progress report of the Euratom Radiation Programme 1985-1989. The report outlines research carried out during this period under all contracts between CEC and research groups in its member states. Volume 3 concentrates on: (i) genetic effects of ionising radiation; (ii) evaluation of radiation risks and optimisation of protection. Within the framework of this programme the aim of research is to improve working conditions, protect man and his environment and ensure the safe production of energy.
