Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The European Community's forest damage inventory is the first large scale transboundary inventory of its kind to be carried out in accordance with a common method, involving a united sampling system and centralised data treatment. By 1990, it allowed comparable data to be collected in respect of over 67,000 sample trees throughout the Community and five non-EC countries. This report gives the results of the national forest health reports and the damage survey, the aim being to provide an updated overview of the state of forest health in the Community and provide a follow-up to earlier reports covering the period 1987-88 and 1989.
