Abstract

JET (Joint European Torus) which is jointly funded by 14 European countries represents the culmination of many years' fusion research. JET currently is the world's largest fusion experiment, and was constructed with the aim of confirming scientific theory on fusion and its feasibility in power generation. This booklet presents an overview of the JET project, its aims, developments and achievements. It explains in layman's terms the theory of fusion and future developments on this subject.
