The European Community Fusion Programme can be defined as a long term co-operation project embracing all work carried out in member states related to fusion technology. The long term aim of the programme is the creation of safe, environmentally sound, prototype reactors. This document outlines the research activities that have been commissioned, under the auspices of the Third Framework Programme (1990-1994), into controlled thermonuclear fusion. Detailed listings of organisations involved in the thermonuclear programme are given including contact points, research responsibilities and management structure.
