Abstract

The external quality control programme REIMEP (using undisclosed samples) has been running for more than 15 years. During this period it covered a number of key materials of the nuclear fuel cycle. Numerous laboratories from all over the world participated in the various measurement rounds, assaying the content or the isotopic composition of the fissile material distributed to the laboratories. The results reported by the participants form a solid basis for establishing performance values of the state of the practice in the assay of fissile material. These performance values are presented and compared to the ESARDA Target Values (1989) and the 1993 IAEA International Target Values for uncertainty components in the assay of fissile material.
