Triple neutron correlation for MOX waste assay
Triple neutron signal correlation techniques are applied to the measurement of waste in 220 litre barrels. A set of small (1-2 kg) waste packages originating from an MOX fuel fabrication plant were loaded into these barrels, with the alpha activity kept well below the tolerance limit. This report describes the verification of the 240Pu equivalent mass content in each barrel for safeguards purposes.
