Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Value analysis can be defined as a management technique which guides firms in their quest for competitiveness and in their innovative steps. However, it is still underutilised in the European Community. In order to overcome this and to promote a better understanding of this modern management technique, the SPRINT programme of the EC launched this survey on training activities in value analysis. This survey reviews and takes stock of relevant existing training programmes and related activities in this field carried out in member states of the EC, as well as in the United States and Japan. Possible guidelines for future VA training activities at Community level are suggested in the light of the needs identified in these surveys.
