Abstract

An improvement of the Albritton nonlocal electron heat transport model is proposed for high-Z plasmas. The thermal decay of the temperature perturbation in a uniform plasma as calculated by this model is compared with that obtained by Fokker-Planck simulations. Complete agreement is found up to values for the product of k and lambda(e) approximately equal to 0.1, where k is the wave number of the perturbation and lambda(e) is the thermal electron mean free path.
