Euratom-CEA Association contributions to the 14th IAEA International Conference on Plasma Physics and Controlled Nuclear Fusion Research
This report contains contributions from a conference held in Würzburg in 1992 on the subject of plasma physics and controlled nuclear fusion. With respect to the Tore Supra tokamak, the results of recent research work are outlined while particular aspects of the programme, such as impurity control, turbulence and MHD instability are presented in more detail. Other topics covered include: (i) the importance of detailed magnetic structure in tokamaks; (ii) radial propagation of turbulence in tokamaks; (iii) synchrotron loss in inhomogeneous tokamak plasmas; (iv) interaction of energetic alpha particles with intense lower hybrid waves; (v) high power negative ion beam development for heating and current drive in fusion plasmas.
