Tomographic techniques for process design and operationFunded under: FP2-BRITE/EURAM 1
Process tomography evolved to meet the need for direct analysis of the internal characteristics of process plants in order to improve the design and operation of equipment. In 1990 a four year programme was established for a European Concerted Action on Process Tomography, within the framework of the BRITE/EURAM scheme. This publication contains the proceedings of the first workshop on the subject, held in Manchester, England, in March 1992. The topics covered include: (i) sensors; (ii) image reconstruction and analysis; (iii) process model verification; (iv) applications; (v) international standards for performance assessment; (vi) CAD of process tomography systems; (vii) data processing hardware; (viii) PT for process operation and control.
