Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The THERMIE programme is a major tool for bringing to the market innovative technologies which directly contribute to more efficient operations in the field of energy. In the oil and gas sector, THERMIE contributes to the achievement of the European Community's most important objectives: the security of supply, the competitiveness of the industry, and the favourable impact on safety and the environment. The 4th EC hydrocarbons symposium, on oil and gas technology in a wider Europe, was held in Berlin in November 1992 within the framework of the associated measures to assist the dissemination of innovative technologies. In addition to the presentations, a round table panel discussion allowed participants from the former Eastern Bloc countries to contribute to an exchange of views on the priorities and interests of their countries, and to present their knowledge and needs in hydrocarbons-related technologies, thus opening up ways for strengthened cooperation at a pan-European level. These proceeedings contain all the presentations, speeches, comments and conclusions.
