Abstract

The paper is concerned with a discussion of computational methods for the numerical solution of transient problems governed by first order hyperbolic equations. The first part of the paper is devoted to a presentation of high order Taylor-Galerkin (TG) schemes for the finite element solution of transient advection problems with smooth solutions. The second part of the paper describes a finite volume scheme designed for the solution of the multicomponent Euler equations in subsonic regime.
