Realistic image generation of scenes using three-dimensional objects requires the description of complex optical phenomena appearing in the interaction of light with the object surfaces. The main goal of an accurate illumination model is to simulate the light distribution with respect to conservation and transport energy principles. A radiosity technique helps to define an analytical illumination model by expressing it in terms of energy balance. This report presents two new approaches: a new form factor expression which allows rapid and precise calculation, and a parallel implementation of a complete radiosity method.
