Test and service devices for analog and digital interfaces
The research project has developed checking and servicing devices for analog and digital interfaces. The interface data are in accordance with the international standard IEC 381 (Part 1 and Part 2) and with the German operational standard BB 22 444 (Part 3). A specific requirement has been the widest possible use for all types of intrinsically safe electrical equipment. Five checking and servicing devices were developed for analog interfaces (including frequency interfaces). The devices serve for checking current interfaces (0 - 20 mA; 4 - 20 mA), voltage interfaces (0 - 5 V) and frequency interfaces (5 - 15 Hz; 0.5 - 1.5 kHz; 5 - 15 kHz). They check both the transducers (for example, by separating and including them in the conductor loop) and the entire transmission line, the data logging and the data transmission installation. In the latter case the checking device is used instead of the transducer. One checking and servicing device was developed for checking serial interfaces. The device has been designed to check, amongst others, the serial signals of a TTY interface with its transmission procedure (DUST 3964 R) pursuant to Bergbau-Bietriebsblatt (operational standard for the mining industry) 22 444, Part 4. Appropriate couplers and modules were devised for physical connection of the checking device to selected serial interfaces; a charging unit was also devised.
