Recent results of the study of the high-pressure X-ray diffraction of lanthanide and actinide metals are reviewed and compared. Updated versions of the general diagrams of the phase relations of lanthanide and actinide metals under pressure are presented, including recent research in the range above 100 GPa. The diagrams also include a few pressure studies of binary alloys between neighbouring elements.
