Synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy of dissolved organic matter in lake waterFunded under: JRC-REMSENS 4C
Synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy proved to be the most suitable technique to give information on the presence of single organic compounds in a mixture. With its excellent sensitivity, it is useful for the study of the circulation pattern of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in natural waters. This technique was applied to three Italian sub-alpine lakes (Maggiore, Varese and Comabbio) to verify whether the DOM was influenced by their different conditions.
