A relation between the normalized thermal energy and the safety factor for tokamaks
It is shown that, within the framework of the extended neoclassical theory, for a tokamak there exists a relationship between the normalised thermal energy content and the normalised plasma current. This relationship, which depends essentially only on plasma fuelling, is a generalisation of the usual Bennett relation and is of importance for tokamak confinement and heating.
