Pellet injection experiments are relevant not only to present day machines like TEXTOR, but also to Next Step devices. Pellet injection can improve the confinement properties considerably and furthermore may be used as a diagnostic probe. At the Jülich tokamak experiment TEXTOR, a nine-shot pellet injection system is in preparation, replacing a single pellet system to cover a wider time range. The system is based on the pneumatic pellet gun type developed at CEA Grenoble. This paper describes the control and data acquisition system for the nine-pellet injection system and its integration into the TEXTOR control and data handling systems.
