Abstract

The formulae used for the calculation of the counting rates of the TOTALS and REALS in neutron coincidence experiments are based on parameters whose values are rarely known in practice. For this reason the coincidence experiment is simulated by the Monte Carlo method which allows the evaluation of these parameters from first principles, taking into account the full space- and energy-distribution of all external and internal neutron sources. Any procedures and modifications to the Monte Carlo method are described in this paper and comparisons of calculated and experimental results are presented.
