Analyzing work processes by using Petri nets
Within a project aimed at designing quality systems, a methodology has been applied to realistic work processes in an industrial organisation. The methodology is composed of the following steps: (i) the identification, by using the structured analysis approach, of five work processes; (ii) modelling and analysis, using Petri nets, of the identified work processes; (iii) the evaluation of one generic work process. Evaluation results are interpreted from the point of view of cooperation between the suppliers and the customers.
