Abstract

The progression of impurities injected by the laser blow-off impurity system into the plasma is followed with good spatial and temporal resolution using two soft X-ray cameras. A 250 micron Be filter is used to discriminate the emission of the injected impurities from the background plasma emission. Additional information is obtained from measurements of the time evolution of the brightness of spectroscopic lines. Observations of metal impurities are reported and the main transport results are reviewed.
