The impact of Marfe instabilities on neutral beam heated TEXTOR plasmas is presented. Marfes are precursors to a coming disruption and indicate the end of the actual operating range in TEXTOR. Density turbulence was discovered over a sizeable part of the plasma cross-section during Marfe activity. Quasistationary and oscillating modes were observed. The evolution towards a tokamak disrupution via Marfe properties is discussed briefly.
