In 1983 a prototype K-edge densitometer was installed in the laboratories of the Institute for Transuranium Elements at Karlsruhe. Since its installation, more than 500 safeguards samples of uranyl nitrate and plutonium nitrate have been analysed with this instrument for element concentration. This paper reviews the results of the analysis of load-out samples taken from reprocessing product solutions of the WAK plant at Karlsruhe between 1984 and 1992, and compares them to corresponding results of destructive analysis.
