The objective of the first Journées Maxwell was to expose the latest developments in various fields where electromagnetism and electrodynamics play a central role. Many of the topics discussed during the symposium are applied in the domain of plasma physics. This paper presents an overview of this domain, with examples chosen to illustrate the importance of electromagnetism and electrodynamics in this field.
