On the simultaneous measurement by polarimetry of both electron line density and poloidal magnetic field in tokamaks
This report demonstrates how the electron line density and the poloidal magnetic field can be measured simultaneously, using only a polarimeter. In this way the full state of polarisation of radiation transmitted across the plasma is determined. The proposed device is simpler and more flexible than the more conventional interferometers/polarimeters currently used in tokamaks.
