Abstract

The 14 MeV Frascati Neutron Generator (FNG) is a neutron generator based on the T(d,n)alpha fusion reaction. It was designed and built at the ENEA Frascati for conducting neutronics experiments in the frame of the research activity on controlled thermonuclear fusion. This paper describes FNG and its auxiliary apparatus, as well as the neutron source calibration performed using the associated alpha-particle method.
