Regular spacings of neutron resonances indicate vibration-quanta of a multiple oscillator
Regular spectra are observed for the heavy nuclides 206Pb and 238U. The smaller spacings of resonances (phonons) can be explained by the decay of phonons created in phonon-phonon processes. It is shown that quantum chaos has the same properties as classical chaos: there are regularly and chaotically distributed eigenstates and also period doubling is observed.
