Data management with the high temperature materials databank
The HTM-DB is a computer-based data management and evaluation system for mechanical and physical properties of metallic materials that are used in high temperature technology. Its emphasis is on data from standardised tests and on evaluation methods which are well established and widely accepted. The main components of the HTM-DB are the databank itself, the evaluation library and the user interface. These are described briefly, together with the data retrieval and reporting functions. Other topics discussed include the production of tables and charts, data entry and validation and the documentation provided. Conclusions are drawn about the databank and its potential use.
