With the increasing interest in minor actinide-containing fuels and the latest radioprotection regulation imposing a lower limit for the maximum accumulated dose, it was decided to install a Minor Actinides Laboratory at the Institute for Transuranium Elements. This paper describes the appropriate upgrading of the existing installations for the fabrication, analysis, and physical studies of experimental fuels. It will allow the production and the study of material containing minor actinides in a wide range of concentrations, for transmutation experiments.
