Over the last five years, the large resonant enhancements of the magnetic X-ray scattering amplitudes at the M(IV) and M(V) absorption edges of actinide materials (U, Np) have been exploited in a series of magnetic diffraction investigations at the National Synchrotron Light Source. This work is reviewed with a discussion of measurements on a series of antiferromagnetic materials with contrasting magnetic properties, UAs, USb, U(0.85)Th(0.15)Sb, UO(2), URu(2)Si(2) and NpAs.
