Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This report is published as an annex to the report: Evaluation of the BRITE-EURAM Programme (areas 1 to 4) - Research Evaluation Report No. 53 - EUR 15070 En, which has been published separately. It presents detailed results of an analysis of the economic effects induced by the BRITE-EURAM programme at the industry level. After a brief description of the methodology followed, the report gives a synthesis of the most interesting basic data and findings. The detailed statistical results are presented in an attachment of 50 tables. In this study, direct and indirect effects have been measured by means of detailed face-to-face interviews of a statistically representative sample of consortia participating in the following Community R&D programmes: EURAM (7 projects, 21 contractors), BRITE (35 projects, 122 contractors), BRITE-EURAM (8 projects, 33 contractors). The added values given are conservative and are intended to represent the minimum level of generated effect. The parameters which were taken into account in the analysis stage included the type and size of companies, the role of basic R&D, the consortia effect, the duration and financial size of contracts.
