The aim of this work is to obtain a multicomponent, numerically simplified and stable distillation model, with simultaneous correction of the temperature and flow-rate (liquid and vapour phases) profiles along the column. The proposed model should be considered as an introduction to the multicomponent distillation calculation via computer, and not as an alternative to the existing rigorous methods. In the model the compositions are evaluated by solving a system of linear equations, while the flow rates are calculated explicity by means of enthalpy balances. A few iterations are required to obtain the solution and the temperature profile.
