The status of the IT-CS experiment in FTU and related topics are discussed briefly, exploiting the synergy with the planned ECRH experiment. The report examines: (i) the concrete problems of the geometries of interest that are feasible on FTU; (ii) the requirements on antenna decoupling, accounting for the main contributions to total noise, including gyrotron noise; (iii) solutions to problems resulting from drifts in gyrotron frequency, in terms of receiver protection and/or alternative receiver schemes.
