Abstract

The results are presented of magnetic and specific heat measurements on uranium intermetallic ternary compounds U(2)T(2)X (T = transition metal and X = p-electron metal). The magnetic susceptibility between 4.2 and 300 K was measured in a SQUID magnetometer. The magnetisation measurements at 4.2 K in magnetic fields up to 38 T were performed in the Amsterdam High-Field Installation. The specific heat was measured by a standard adiabatic method in magnetic fields up to 5 T.
